Spilled Milk Update #1

Sent:  Wed 3/17/99 11:01 PM

Hello to all…

I figured I had better send out an update.  I’m sure many of you go back to the site regularly or have subscribed to it so you know when stuff changes.  Although you don’t really know where to go.  That’s where these release notes come in handy (attached to the end).  It assigns dates to each update I’ve made and describes the location of the update.

You’ll see in the release notes that I signed up with LinkExchange. The way this works is I need hits to every page in order to generate credits so my banner will be displayed on other sites. It’s all about exposure! Hopefully the banners that I have to display on my site aren’t to slow (only 10 KB). So I need hits, and plenty of them. I usually traverse the entire site once in the morning and once in the evening. Only three people have clicked on my banner and it has been displayed 837 times. That’s a pretty pathetic "Click Thru Ratio". I don’t really know at which site my banner is displayed, but I’m pretty sure it’s not at comic shop sites or gaming sites. The banner looks pretty good. It’s close to the one that’s displayed in the eBay descriptions; only smaller. Much smaller. I had to hack it down to (468 x 60) and 6 bits per pixel. I did however submit an animated GIF for a banner just the other day, so hopefully, with just a flash of lens flare, people will find their way to my site. Again, I can’t stress enough that I need page hits… All over the damn place… Thanks.

As of yesterday I got a hold of Image comics and they will consider putting Spilled Milk under their banner. This may be good or it could be bad (I need to know if you hate Image comics). I hope to get the exposure I need in order to get the word out. I will be elaborating more on this process in the status section of the web-site as new information becomes available.

Also as of yesterday all of the pages to be colored are at Digital Chameleon. If you don’t know already, I’m paying for the coolest color they can provide (their platinum package). They don’t usually do this in most of their comics, because it costs the publishers too much. I figured you deserved it (and so do I).

I’ve updated my version of Bryce (www.metatools.com) so I hope to make the web-site a little more 3D (add some Sex and Sizzle, outdated Intergraph speak). I’m not ready to pay somebody to work on my site. I like having the control over the content and being able to add to it whenever I want.

I’ve pasted the release notes into this message, because there are too many people out there who can’t receive attachments or don’t own a copy of Microsoft Word (or at least not the latest version).

I thank you all for your continued support and hope to keep updating the web-site.

Thanks!

Parker.
