Check out Preview Issue #2

On the next few pages you'll see some images from the preview issue complete with text.  Above is the actual glossy wrap-around cover (only without the website text at the base of CiCi's feet).  I've included the first nine pages of the preview issue.  I suppose I could have left these pages in color, but I switched them to gray so I wouldn't misrepresent the preview issue which is definitely gray.  The download time improves a little with the images being gray too.

The issue was produced from the third round of color proofs that Digital Chameleon provided.  Unfortunately about 3 of the text bubbles were clipped in the final version which were not clipped in the proof.  This was a slight goof by the printer, but then again what do you expect?  It's only a preview issue.  Get over it.  At least now I know what to look for and know what to expect when it comes time to print the real issues.

There were approximately 5,000 of these preview issues made on July 7, 2000 (give or take a few extras run off by the printers).  I really doubt that all 5,000 will stay in mint condition, because about half of these will be given to retailers and I would hope that they would allow their customers to read it.  So you may want to buy your own signed copy directly from me.  Last time I checked I had 209 positive references on eBay, so you can count on your order making it to your door.

The issue is selling for $2.50 and with shipping and packaging (a stiff mailer) I should be able to get it to your door for under $5.00.  That's pretty good considering some limited ashcans/previews are running $5.95 these days.  If you can show that you're a retailer or magazine editor then you'll get yours free.  Most of the retailers will get theirs in their Diamond Previews packets.

I will try to have everybody sign a bunch of comics out at the Con and have these available for sale through this site.  I'm not sure how much I'll charge, but it'll be based on how much of a pain it is to get all that organized.  There should be four signatures on these extremely limited preview issues.  I'll sign it; then there's Monte, Zak, and Jason.  Get your orders in NOW and reserve your copy today before they're all gone!

What's it all about?

I've seen enough where can I buy?
I've already got a preview,
but some of the text is clipped.
This online preview is 11 pages with each image averaging about 90Kb.  You can click on the following link and then go grab some coffee or a sandwich, because the entire preview will be loaded into one page taking about 10 minutes at 28.8 Kbs.  So if your effective BAUD rate is closer to 26.6 Kbs then you can expect about 11-12 minutes.  Once all the images are cached on your hard drive, you can view the issue in sequence without interruption (in theory, provided that your Internet cache is set at a decent size).  Click here to load all the images.
